Sir,
I read your article “Saudi simulation”[1] with interest, and I found it lacking fundamental topics, summarised in the following points:
- The main educating system is usually provided by Medical Applied Health Colleges while the role of the Ministry of Health (MOH) is supportive and not educational. It normally aims at training its own manpower only
- In your article, you provide a full picture on what the USA has achieved on simulation while totally ignoring the European and Canadian facilities which are equal or even better than the USA
- The College of Medicine, King Saudi University started the CPR in 1984 and Trauma Management on Simulation in 2002; far ahead of the MOH
- I wrote a full article on simulation as the future of medical teaching in 2003, which was published in the Saudi Journal of Sports Medicine
- You may also browse via http://www.angelfire.com/mt/CPR/. You will find over 15 published papers in recognised medical journal on CPR using simulation.
